The central bank of Sri Lanka has named a deputy governor.

P. Samarasiri was appointed to the position with effect from 1st June, 2014. He has been an assistant governor at the apex bank for the past 6.5 years.

He also serves as the chairman of the Sri Lanka Accounting and Auditing Standards Monitoring Board and as the vice chairman of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka.
