Sri Lanka : President Donates Rs 5 Million to the Hadata- Hadak Trust Fund.

President Maithripala Sirisena donated Rs.5 million to the Hadata-Hadak Trust Fund established under the initiation of the Sri Jayawardhanapura Hospital to provide funds for heart surgeries for patients who cannot afford to pay for their surgeries, at the Presidential Secretariat, (26th). The donation was made with the contribution of the Polonnaruwa Buddhist Society and the President handed over the cheque for Rs.5 million to consultants Dr. Ruwan Ekanayake and Dr. Rajitha De Silva at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday.

Meanwhile, the President also handed over financial assistance to the Chief Incumbent of the Ashokarama Temple in Akaravita Ven. Madawalathenne Wimalasara Thero for construction of the Sunday Damma school building of the Ashokarama Temple in Akaravita, Gampaha. In addition, the students of the Laggala Pallegama Central College were provided with computers and other equipment worth Rs 2.5 million by the President. This was fulfillment of a promise by the President when the students made a request. On the request of Makola Ms. D.D. Ramya Neelakanthi, a self-employed persons living amidst hardships and illness, the President donated a three wheeler.

The President also donated a financial grant for the benefit of the youth of the Polonnaruwa district for the Youth Camp of the year 2019 organized by the National Youth Services Council. The President also presented a sponsorship to the Music Symphony to appreciate artistes, Mr. Daya de Alwis, Ms. Kusum Peiris and Ms. Yamuna Malani Perera. The President also donated a financial grant to obtain a data storage machine which would help them to receive song writings. The check was also handed over by the President to the Chairman of the music composing center, Dr. Jayantha Dharmadasa.
