Spurs go for Bankie babe.

Clydebank super kid Gary Teale is in line for a sensational move to Spurs.

The Premiership club are keen to snatch the 18-year-old winger after being bowled over by his display against Celtic in the Scottish Cup.

Spurs have offered him a trial period at White Hart Lane and he'll jet down to London in a couple of weeks when Bankies clear up their fixture backlog.

Teale, a Scotland Under-21 regular since making his debut against Latvia last year, is valued at around pounds 250,000.

He has been training with Rangers but Spurs boss Gerry Francis looks set to win the race for a player tipped by Bankies chiefs to be the next Davie Cooper.

Coach Brian Wright said: "We're delighted that Gary's getting this chance. He is the best young player in Scotland and he has the ability to take England by storm.

"There has been interested from several English clubs and I'm surprised no team here has come in."
