Sprinkler rains down on Westboro High.
At 9:14 a.m., on Thursday, May 22, personnel from the Police and Fire departments responded to the school for a reported fire alarm activation.
"The arriving units found that a sprinkler head in a third floor men's room had been maliciously damaged causing the flooding of the third floor hallways and classrooms," according to a press release issued by the Police Department.
Students and staff were evacuated from the school and waited outside for approximately 40 minutes until the situation was brought under control.
The students and staff were eventually allowed into the gym and the flooding was handled by the School Department custodians.
Christopher Salvadore, 18, of 1 Elizabeth Drive, was arrested as a result of an investigation conducted by Det. Sgt. Chester Hallice III, Det. Jeffrey Chase and School Liaison Officer Charles Dapolite.
Salvadore was charged with malicious destruction of property; causing a false alarm of fire; threats causing evacuation or disruption of a school; and disturbance of a school assembly.
