During last week's Scottish Premier match between Hamilton and St Mirren, Buddies defender Jack Ross was preparing to shoot when the pitch sprinklers came on.

The official explanation to the unexpected downpour at New Douglas Park was blamed on a malfunctioning timing device.

But Ross suspected there was another reason.

He said: "It was hilarious when the sprinkler came on as I was on the ball at the time and I was about to cut inside and shoot.

"But I know Hamilton's manager Billy Reid quite well and I wouldn't be surprised if he has a magic button in his dugout which he can press whenever the opposition are on the attack."
