Springer launches titles; enters into partnership.
Springer Science + Business (New York) has entered into a publishing partnership with the American Oil Chemists' Society (AOCS; Urbana, IL) to take over publishing responsibilities for three of the Society's journals, and will begin the publication of two new journals beginning in January 2007."Sensing & Instrumentation for Food Quality and Safety" is an interdisciplinary journal that is focused on publishing results of current research in measurement and detection methodologies and techniques for the assessment, monitoring and control of food quality and safety. To be published quarterly, the new journal includes coverage of such topicas as sensing principles and mechanisms, biosensors, imaging techniques and image processing, bioimaging, signal processing, classification and pattern recognition techniques for food quality and safety applications, instrumentation systems, food quality control, and food safety and security monitoring systems.
The mission of the "Journal of Cancer Survivorship: Research and Practice" is to advance knowledge and practice in areas related to improving the quality of care and quality of life of cancer survivors. Content includes information on research related to epidemiology, etiology, primary, secondary and tertiary prevention, economics and health care policy. It will also be published quarterly.
Also, Springer has entered into a partnership with the AOCS to publish three of AOCS' journals beginning in January 2007. Published monthly, the "Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society" is devoted to fundamental and practical research, production, processing, packaging and distribution in the fields of fats, oils, proteins, and related substances. "Lipids," also published monthly, features articles, short communications, methods papers and review articles on lipid research, including biochemistry, clinical nutrition and metabolism. The "Journal of Surfactants and Detergents" is a quarterly science and news journal focusing on the practical and theoretical aspects of oleochemical and petrochemical surfactants, soaps and detergents.
The AOCS will continue to publish "Inform," a monthly business and scientific publications that is targeted to professionals interested in the science and technology of fats and oils, surfactants, detergents, proteins, oleochemicals, and related substances.
