Sports Affairs Ministry Honors 4th GCC Women Sport Championship Teams.
Muscat, April 20 (ONA) ---- Ministry of Sports Affairs today honored the teams that participated in the 4th GCC Women Sport Championship hosted by the Sultanate during the period of March 8th-18th, with the participation of countries, namely the Sultanate, Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, and Kuwait which competed in 10 games, namely athletics, basketball, handball, volleyball, tennis, shooting, equestrian and athletics for people with disabilities, taekwondo and bowling. Sheikh Sa'ad bin Mohammed al Mardhouf al-Sa'adi, Minister of Sports Affairs sponsored the honoring ceremony, in the presence of a number of officials from the ministry, teams and the championship's committees. Khalifa bin Saif al- Isa'ee Director General of Sports Activities at the Ministry of Sports Affairs, Head of Sports Stadiums and Facilities Committee in the championship gave a speech in which he said that the Ministry of Sports Affairs is making great efforts to build an active sports generation that contributes in the development of Omani sport and raise the nation's flag in international sports events, adding that to encourage and motivate to this promising generation, the Ministry of Sports Affairs is honoring the standing committees of the 4th championship, who have achieved sporting achievements at various levels of the championship. --- Ends/MN/FS
