Sporting chance; SPORT SHORTS JOURNALISM.

FANCY being as brilliant and professional as our good selves here at The Journal? Darlington College launches an 18-week module on sports journalism from Monday for all budding reporters.

The programme includes an introduction to sports reporting, the sports news cycle, press conferences and interviewing, sports news, sports public affairs and sports politics, sports features and editing sports stories.

It will be a weekly evening class between 6pm and 9pm and a second course is planned for September.

The programme would interest those studying the core modules of the NCTJ Diploma in Journalism or those already with the diploma, and anyone interested in developing their sports writing skills.

If you are interested, contact Sue Calvert, programme leader, NCTJ Diploma in Journalism, on 01325 503070 or email scalvert@darlington.ac.uk.
