I have some disturbing news regarding Channel 4's cricket team for the summer ahead.

It is my sad duty to report that ace journalist Sybil Ruscoe is not named in their line-up. Instead, the excellent, gerbil-mouthed lovely has seemingly been replaced by Clare Connor, the England women's cricket captain.

Guff on the station's website reads: "Clare's role gives her a terrific perspective on what Nasser and the players are up against."

Pah! As far as I can recall Nasser doesn't mince around the outfield worrying about his nails, he doesn't wear a skirt (as they used to in the girls' game a few years back) and certainly in bloke's cricket there are no bowlers who tear in and bowl at a top speed of, ooh, 20mph.

Sybil was recently named as one of Cosmopolitan's 100 Most Inspirational Women. I doubt Clare Connor even got close.
