THE know-alls who put Arsenal down after their Cup final defeat on Saturday predictably harped on about the age of players like David Seaman, Lee Dixon and Tony Adams, writes Graham Woods.

Of course, lining up with them were Ashley Cole and substitute Ray Parlour, products of the Highbury youth set-up, just like Adams.

Tonight's FA Youth Cup pits the new generation of young Gunners against the precocious talent of Blackburn, and it should be one worth watching, if just to make a note of a few names for the future.

And amid all the talk of imported players stifling home talent, at least we can be sure tonight's youngsters were nurtured here.
