ADAMS, the children's wear chain, has taken on the winner of the National Student Design Award.

Michelle Evans, a graduate of the University of Central England in Birmingham, won first prize in the Association of Suppliers to the British Clothing Industry awards.

Nuneaton-based Adams, which sponsored the contest, has now taken her onto the staff as part of the boys' wear design team.

Philip Walker, product and marketing director for Adams, said: "As a design led business, we will continue to support and employ bright new talent in the industry.

"This appointment is a perfect example of our commitment to talented new designers."
