Spitting in public is disgusting; letters@coventrytelegraph. net Letters.
REGARDING spitting on pavements, I have encountered this over many years but it is now getting worse.
I reprimanded one person at a bus stop for spitting all over the pavement where people stand as I was so incensed.
Crossing over the road in Broadgate, a woman coming towards me spat straight into the air which narrowly missed me. How disgusting.
Today I narrowly missed putting my bag down in a pile of someone's spit. To cap it all on the same day, I saw a man and could clearly hear him coughing up and then spitting out three times into the road. Why are there no signs to say "Spitting is Illegal" - the amount of germs spread around is awful, can nothing be done about this disgusting habit? Regarding smoking - while I am grateful for the smoking bans but sick of walking through clouds of smoke from people out smoking in public. Next, the graffiti on the Coventry University buildings - what on earth do tourists travelling that route think? It appears little has been done to improve this mess. Can anyone take responsibility for clearing this up?
