Spitting feathers over plans for chicken 'factory'.

RESIDENTS are up in arms over plans to have a chicken "factory" on the outskirts of a north Warwickshire village.

A planning application has been submitted to the borough council for a broiler unit to cater for 39,000 birds, at Crown Stables in Nuneaton Road, Mancetter. Objections, over smell, noise and increased lorry tragic, have been lodged by people living in the vicinity, with support by the local parish council. A report from Reading Agricultural Consultants, on behalf of the applicant, said that a proposed building was required "to establish a new broiler rearing business at the site."

Meanwhile, there are plans to convert the boarded-up Punch Bowl pub in Tuttle Hill, Nuneaton, into a pizza takeaway, while a local dance school wants to take over a former church building in Heath End Road in the town.
