Spirit of patriotism vital to win wars: Brig A(r) Mehmood Shah.
ISLAMABAD -- The war veteran of September 1965, Brig A(r) Mehmood Shah has said that spirit of patriotism was vital to fight war than hi-tech weapons.
During the war of 1965, our soldiers fought with spirit of patriotism, and people of Pakistan stood besides the valiant Army soldiers,which led to the defeat of Indian Army and repelled their aggressive offence he remarked while talking to a private television channel.
He said that India attacked the Southern border and to stop its malicious design against our motherland, Pakistan Army proved its defence capabilities and forced the enemy to run away from the battle field.
The war veteran said that in the early morning of September 8,1965 Indian Army attacked the strategically important Chawinda border with heavy artillery and tanks.
Due to better planning and high morale of Pakistan Army soldiers, the Indian army tanks were destroyed in the counter attack of our Jawans, he added.
He said Indian forces were defeated in this war.
Mehmood Shah said that as young officer,he had duty to protect the radar system in Badin and they had performed their duties with full alert.
He said that Indian Army was much concentrated on hi-tech weapons and ammunition but Pak-Army had only deterrence of spirit of patriotism to rendered the life for defence of the country.
