Spillane leaves Grubb & Ellis to join Galbreath Riverbank.

Less than a year after being selected to head Wm. A. White/Grubb & Ellis, Noel A. Spillane has left the company to join Galbreath Riverbank. L.P. as vice chairman.

Spillane, who has extensive experience in national commercial real estate, will focus on developing the firm's national accounts program with Lizanne Gabreath, vice chairman, and Bruce E. Mosler, first vice chairman. Spillane was formerly president and chief executive officer of Wm. A. White/Grubb & Ellis Inc., a New York-based full service commercial real estate firm owned by Grubb & Ellis, a national real estate firm traded on the New York Stock Exchange.

Following Spillane's resignation, Edwin H. Cohen was appointed interim head of Wm. A. White/Grubb & Ellis. Cohen, an executive vice president, has headed the Northern New Jersey office of the company for the past several years. Northern New Jersey was the most profitable of all the Grubb & Ellis offices in 1992 and it has exceeded projected revenues for the year to date, the company reports.

Spillane, 61, a 20-year veteran of corporate real estate, is known for his expertise in structuring major real estate strategies for large corporate clients such as IBM. Kraft General Foods, Campbell Soups, Shell Oil, Toyota, Burger King, CCH-Computax and McDonald Douglas. He has handled real estate projects with values in excess of $350 million. Spillane served as director of real estate development and, before that, chief financial officer for AT&T Resource Management Company, the real estate subsidiary of AT&T.
