Speed up access.

Russell Ewick struggled with extremely slow download time in his classroom at Stroud Elementary School in Modesto, CA. With 13 students trying to access the same websites at the same time, loading pages sometimes took 10 minutes. Ewick, the school's technology specialist, spent significant time creating a variety of lesson plans to accommodate for the glitches--such as dividing the class into two separate learning sections using different websites.

Ewick then installed Cachelink Pro software from Mangosoft, which increases the speed of Web content delivery for networked computers.

The software works by allowing all users on the network to share Web content stored in each local PC's browser cache, the memory computers use to store Web content. Users can then download previously viewed Web pages or files from the cache on the local network--faster than going to the Internet to download the same Web page. Users no longer have to wait for a site to download.

"Installation was simple and we experienced results almost immediately," Ewick says. "All sites are working faster and more successfully without any glitches. The minutes saved in downloading a site add to my students' work week."
