27 October 2016 - US-based outsourced intraoperative neuromonitoring, perfusion, and surgical services provider SpecialtyCare has acquired IONM provider Sentient, the company said.

This transaction extends SpecialtyCare's market position as the largest provider of patient-centered outsourced IONM services to surgeons, hospitals, surgery centers, and health systems.

With Sentient, SpecialtyCare increases the number of intraoperative neuromonitoring associates available to support cases in our existing markets across the United States while adding significant new coverage throughout the Atlantic States.

The company now has over 500 IONM professionals supporting 88,000 procedures annually for more than 700 IONM customers and 2,300 surgeons.

This acquisition also expands SpecialtyCare's offering of neuroscience services to include monitoring for Deep Brain Stimulation and interventional neuroradiology, ICU trans-cranial Doppler evaluations, diagnostic EEG, and support of long-term EEG monitoring.

More than 1,200 hospitals and 13,500 physicians use SpecialtyCare.
