Special magazine issue marks police centenary.
Manama, Dec.11 (BNA): The Ministry of Interior has dedicated its monthly "Al-Amn" magazine to mark the centenary of the police in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The special bilingual issued feature the portrait of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, the Supreme Commander, as a token of allegiance to HM the King.
The magazine which is issued by the Public Relations, Media and Security Culture Directorate saluted the police on its centenary and highlighted its decades-long constructive role in defending Bahrain and protecting national achievements.
The magazine paid tribute to the to the early rulers of the Kingdom of Bahrain, who played a trailblazing role in building the nation and bolstering the security -- from the epoch of Ahmed Al-Fateh and the era of the later Amir Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al-Khalifa.
The special issue shed light on the historical development phases of the police in Bahrain, spanning the period from 1937 till 2019, achieving landmark strides over decades of strenuous and dedicated endeavor.
The issue looked back to the development phases led by the then Public Security Chief Shaikh Khalifa bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa, who joined the police in 1937.
He was succeeded by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al-Khalifa, who was appointed in 1961 as Police and Security Chief, followed by Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa, who was appointed as Interior Minister in 1971.
A new chapter was then heralded when General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa was appointed as Interior Minister in May 2004. Gen. Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa then embarked on a wide-ranging strategy to modernize the ministry and upgrade work procedures.
In article titled "Bahrain police ..success stories and dedicated march", Public Relations, Media and Security Culture director-general Brigadier Mohammed bin Daina paid tribute to HM the King for laying the foundations of citizenship and advanced society, while paying homage to the early nation-builders.
