Regional furniture society's Christopher Gilbert memorial lecture

The Seymour Cabinetmakers: British Lions in America by Robert D Mussey Jr, Robert Mussey Associates, Boston

After emigrating as minor English cabinetmakers, John and Thomas Seymour emerged in Boston, among the greatest of all American cabinetmakers. Their superb designs and conflicting cultural loyalties will be explored in detail by Mussey.

Tribute to Lord Nelson 'Songs for a Conquering Hero'

Saturday 18 June 7.30pm

In association with The Chelsea Festival and performed on an historic Fortepiano, pianist David Owen Norris and singer/broadcaster Catherine Bott present a musical tribute to the great Lord Nelson 200 years after the Battle of Trafalgar. The programme is taken largely from Lady Hamilton's own music books, containing music by Haydn, Dibdin and Corri. www.chelseafestival.org.uk
