Special dinner at St. George Legion.
The evening will include a buffet-style roast beef dinner featuring a brief talk by Lieutenant Commander Glenna Swing, former Commander of the HMCS STAR (Hamilton) who is involved in planning the Navy 100 events in 2010.
The event will also feature musical guest Sharilyn Vandermolen, performing and discussing navy songs from the past 100 years. Some listener discretion advised.
There will be opportunities to sing along with some of the popular songs of the past, from Vera Lynn ballads to patriotic songs and the Navy Hymn.
The dinner will take place at the St. George branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, 9 Main St. N. starting with a 4:30 p.m. reception and a formal program at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets will be $18 in advance at the museum, 36 Main St. S. and at the Legion, and $20 at the door if still available.
Last year's dinner celebrating the anniversary of the Armistice sold out, so consider buying your tickets in advance.
