This paper presents a new method for finding identities for hypergeometric series, covering the Appell-Lauricella hypergeometric series, the (Gauss) hypergeometric series, and the generalized hypergeometric series. The chapter on preliminaries explains contiguity operators and degenerate relations. The chapter on derivation of special values gives three extended examples. Six tables of special values are included, and about 12 pages of appendices offer material and examples related to Appell-Lauricella hypergeometric series. ([umlaut] Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR)
