Spare Backup Collaborates with CA to Extend Product Line.

-Product Extension to Include Internet Security and Live Technical Support-

PALM DESERT, Calif. -- Spare Backup, Inc. (OTCBB:SPBU) today announced that in collaboration with CA (NYSE:CA), one of the world's largest information technology management software companies, it is releasing two comprehensive, competitively priced software suites: Spare Backup Internet Security and Spare Backup Antivirus. These new products bundle Spare Backup's remote backup and restoration services with CA's home and home office Internet security software, augmenting Spare Backup's product portfolio for home users, small business customers and OEM partners. Spare Backup also announced the release of Lifeline, an automated support desk, to complement all of Spare Backup's products with a one-stop support solution.

Spare Backup Antivirus enables virus scanning on data uploaded to Spare Backup servers for remote encrypted backup, helping to ensure that critical files are protected from viruses, Trojans and other forms of malicious software ("malware").

Spare Backup Internet Security Suite provides an added layer of security by integrating CA Internet Security Suite 2007. The Suite, which includes Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, Anti-Spam, and Personal Firewall, delivers wide-ranging PC protection against viruses, hackers, identity thieves, spyware, spam and other online threats that can jeopardize privacy, data or a PC's performance.

Rounding out the comprehensive offerings, both suites include Spare Backup's newly released Lifeline automated and live technical support service. Lifeline enables customers to access automated tasks that detect, diagnose and resolve problems without technician intervention. If service desk assistance is required, Lifeline allows for remote and live chat support, remote diagnosis, repair of problems and connection to live technicians. If the problem remains unsolved, problem information is automatically delivered to the technician, further accelerating the resolution process, there will be no additional charge for this service yet.

"We are pleased to bring to market two highly competitive computer security offerings that present an enhanced solution to the security needs of the home and small business," said Cery Perle, CEO of Spare Backup. "Customers are currently spending between $30 to $70 a year on antivirus software alone. For a few dollars more per month, Spare Backup is delivering online backup services and live technical support in addition to state-of-the-art antivirus and Internet security.

"Home and small businesses do not realize how vulnerable the data on their PCs is and most do not have adequate or effective backup solutions, security or support services, if at all. Our new offerings should drastically change the competitive landscape and we look forward to providing customers and partners the most comprehensive and economical package available on the market today," Mr. Perle concluded.

Simple, Smart, Secure Backup

Spare Backup is a fully automated remote backup solution and the first online backup service specifically designed for small business and home business users. It starts by scanning a user's hard drive, including the desktop and e-mail programs, for files and the application components necessary to produce an exact replica of the original. The data, including new and revised files, is then transported daily to twin data centers on both U.S. coasts. The files and transmission channel are encrypted and users can access them from any broadband, Web-connected computer anywhere.

The Spare Backup remote backup and restoration features are user friendly and give users the freedom to never worry about backup again. The service offers helpful intelligence features such as CPU throttling to adjust and remain quiet when users need resources for other tasks. The software is application-aware and contains smart scanning and pre-set functionality.

Upgrades are received automatically via a live update capability seamlessly behind the scenes. The user can set Spare Backup to automatically shut down the computer when the backup is complete, sparing the need to wait or to constantly "check up" on the computer.

Spare Backup employs the same security standards to protect data as those used by the Federal Government and banking institutions, including Spare Key Escrow Partner - a username, password and spare key number that keeps the encrypted files safe and only accessible to the end user.
