Spar Express opens in Abu Dhabi's Al Falah City.

As the first food retailer in Al Falah City, Spar Express focuses its range on top-up and convenience shopping, bringing residents a much needed grocery store in the neighbourhood.

Spar, the world's largest food retailer, unveiled the Spar Express convenience store at Village 1 in Neighbourhood 2 of the Al Falah City in Abu Dhabi.

As the first food retailer in Al Falah City, Spar Express focuses its range on top-up and convenience shopping, bringing residents a much needed grocery store in the neighbourhood.

"We have been staying in Al Falah City for months now and every time we need a crate of eggs or a bottle of milk, we have to drive about 5km to the closest store. Now with Spar I don't fear having to waste my evening," said an enthusiastic resident.

The Spar stores represent the highly successful 'multi-format Spar strategy,' which will have Spar Hypermarkets, Supermarkets and Express stores. Spar's distinguished offering includes an in-store bakery, food-to-go, and butchery, amidst an assortment on chilled, frozen and other regular grocery products.

"This is the first amongst the four Spar stores planned in Al Falah City and we will strive towards delighting the Al Falah community there, by ensuring their loyalty," said Ibrahim Al Bahar, chairman of Spar Middle East.

"We are currently developing 23 Spar stores in Oman, Qatar, Lebanon and in the UAE of which 13 stores are in the UAE," said Faisal Al Arshi, CEO of Spar Middle East.
