Spanish retailer, Tous, joins Soho's in crowd.
Faith Hope Consolo, chairman, and Joseph A. Aquino, executive vice president, along with team member Efraim Navas of Prudential Douglas Elliman's Retail Leasing and Sales Division, exclusively represented the luxury accessories retailer in a 10-year lease for a flagship store at 109 Greene Street.
Situated in the heart of ever-popular Soho, between Prince and Spring Streets, the store will showcase Tous' extensive collections, of diamond jewelry, watches, bathing suits, handbags, perfumes and sunglasses. The boutique will serve as the retailer's fifth U.S. location, joining two stores in Miami, one in Orlando and another in San Antonio, as well as 200 locations worldwide.
The shop will sit directly across from Louis Vuitton and just steps away from Montblanc and Armani Casa, in a newly constructed cast iron building, in keeping with the tradition of Soho architecture. A Fall 2005 opening is planned.
"Soho seemed like the ideal neighborhood given Tous' expansion strategy," says Ms. Consolo. "We are aggressively seeking out new locations for Tous, and in some of the most chic and heavily populated cities around the globe. Soho is the epitome of 24/7 New York City shopping and when the space across from Vuitton opened up, Tous wanted to seize this rare opportunity to nab a highly desirable Soho location."
"We have successfully leased several Soho addresses in the past few years, bringing cutting-edge tenants such as Lacoste, G-Star Raw, A Bathing Ape, Dusica Dusica and, most recently, Giggle to the trendy area," adds Mr. Aquino. "Tous will be right at home among this elite group of retailers."
