Spanish premier earns less money than his staff, new data shows.

Madrid, Safar 18, 1436, Dec 10, 2014, SPA -- Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy earns less money

than many of the top officials he oversees, according to data

released Wednesday as part of a transparency initiative by the

Spanish government, dpa reported.

The salary information, posted on a newly-launched internet portal,

showed that Rajoy receives an annual salary of 78,200 euros (97,200

dollars).

In comparison, Rajoy's head clerk Jorge Moragas earns 113,200 euros

per year, while the head of the Rajoy's economic office, Alvaro

Nadal, also enjoys a higher salary.
