Spanish contingent delineates part of Blue-line.

Spanish contingent corps of engineers, attached to UNIFIL, have began delineating UN-designated Blue-line in the direction of the Lebanese border village of Oudayseh. Blue-line delineation began from Fatmeh gateway in the direction of Oudayseh with soldiers spotted making an x-mark on Blue-line designated spots.<p>It is to note that Spanish peacekeepers resume their delineation work following consultations with Israeli Army at Rass Nakoura. Israelis were originally opposed to the idea of a several kilometer long sidewalk being built right next to Fatmeh gateway but seemingly this obstacle has been removed.

Border delineation activities were duly overseen by Spanish General, Ricardo Alvares, with Lebanese military mounting fixed and mobile road blocks 15 meters away from the Spanish contingent.

Meanwhile, joint Army/UNIFIL patrols have been seen throughout South Lebanon with the Israelis reportedly intensifying patrolling activities on their side of the border.

On the other hand, a Spanish vehicle has overturned near the entrance to Rashayya al-Fakhar causing damage to nearby olive groves which necessitated the removal of the damaged vehicle by a huge crane. Unfortunately, a number of olive groves were damaged in the process. Albeit, UNIFIL informed local farmers that they would get compensated for damages incurred during the accident.
