Spain : The Cooperation Council approves the 5th Master Plan for Spanish Cooperation.

?The Cooperation for Development Council approved the Report prepared by the General State Administration Services on the 5th Master Plan for Spanish Cooperation.

After the Master Plan was approved by the Interterritorial Council for Development Aid last Wednesday and ratified by the plenary of the Cooperation Council, parliamentary proceedings to debate the Master Plan in the Congress of Deputies and the Senate start now.

The 5th Master Plan for Spanish Cooperation is expected to be assessed by the Inter-ministerial Committee on International Cooperation at the beginning of next month as a previous formality before it is finally approved by the Council of Ministers.

The State Secretary for International Cooperation and for Ibero-America and the Caribbean, Fernando Garca Casas, chaired the plenary meeting of the Cooperation Council, in which, besides the General State Administration Services, the NGODs Coordinator, Universities and experts panel are represented.

Mr. Garcia-Casas, who started his speech by expressing his support to the work developed by NGODs, reminded that the 5th Master Plan for Spanish Cooperation is an agile, summarised and practical document, arisen from a long process of consultation.

The State Secretary, after highlighting that this Plan translates the 2030 Agenda to the development policies wanted to express his gratitude for the support received, and encouraged all actors of Cooperation to keep up the good work on development aid.
