Space and Naval Warfare Systems command Supply Corps Officer supports International Medical Training Summit.
Lt. j.g. Teresa Ta, who currently serves as a contracts specialist at Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), volunteered to serve as an interpreter for the Vietnamese delegate of physicians visiting the Naval Medical Center, San Diego (NMCSD) this past December as part of a Medical Exchange Program between the U.S. and Vietnam.
This high-visibility visit was instrumental in the continuing efforts to support advance medical treatment and education for the Vietnamese medical community. Lt. j.g. Ta's support, on and off duty, to the Vietnamese delegates was invaluable and increased the quality and professionalism of the exchange among the participants. She interpreted for the doctors during the SPAWAR's 4th annual training summit where more than 300 physicians from across the nation participated in the advancement of Wounded Warrior care.
Her dedication and support was greatly appreciated by the Surgeon General, Vice Adm. Matthew Nathan; NMCSD Commander, Rear Adm. Bruce Gillingham; and the NMCSD team.
Lt. .j.g. Ta is completing her Navy Acquisition Contracting Officer internship with hands-on experience serving as contracts specialist supporting Naval communications systems for various programs.
