Southern LINC(R), the wireless communications service from Southern Company (NYSE: SO), and Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today announced that the new Motorola i205 handset will be available in early November. The Motorola i205 handset is an economical communications solution that features GPS capability and musical ring tones.

The Motorola i205 is a simple, easy-to-use handset available in black and midnight blue. The compact handset offers the features associated with Motorola's iDEN technology including Instant LINC two-way radio, phone service, text messaging and data access. The Motorola i205 handset also offers many of the advanced features such as an expanded phonebook and audio caller ID that lets users assign different ring tones to different callers, so call recipients know who is calling without even looking at the phone.(1) Features that can be added to this handset include VibraCall(R) alert and speakerphone.

The Motorola i205 measures 123x26x50mm and weighs 110g (without battery).
