Throughout the year our local associations bring in well-known clinicians or seek the talent of local teachers to provide educational and inspirational workshops. In Louisiana the Alexandria music teachers recently hosted Maurice Hinson, NCTM, and Catherine Rollin, NCTM. The Lafayette association did a "Present, Prepare, Perfect" program prepared by six outstanding local teachers. The teachers demonstrated each of the three Ps with students at different levels. The teachers enjoyed seeing their colleagues teach and requested similar future presentations.

The Northwest Arkansas MTA held a recital and master class with French pianist Yves Henry. NAMTA is planning ahead for this spring, a master class with Jura Margulis, a Baroque Festival and "A Musical Treasure Hunt: Teaching Intermediate Literature," with Scott Carrell.

The Tulsa, Oklahoma, MTA held two workshops last fall: in September Peggy Otwell, keyboard editor for Hal Leonard, presented sessions on "French Sound and Style for the Elementary and Intermediate Student," and in October Martha Hilley, NCTM, from the University of Texas presented workshops on "Theory, the Vital Link" and "Your Computer and the Web."

Last November Texas teachers attended recitals, workshops and master classes presented by Nelita True, NCTM, at Abilene Christian University and Maurice Hinson, NCTM, at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, followed by receptions held by the local associations.
