South Africa: Dairy Firm Sunningdale to Open New Plant.

19 May 2010 - South African dairy products maker Sunningdale's new dairy plant in the East London industrial development zone (Eastern Cape) is expected to begin operating in June.

The plant, which will produce fresh milk, maas, yogurt, cheese, butter and blended juices, may lead to the creation of over 200 jobs.

Sunningdale Managing Director Neil van Rensburg believes that the plant will be the first of its kind in the Eastern Cape.

"We are resurrecting the dairy industry in the Eastern Cape. We will be processing dairy products that are of European Union standard. It will be a full range of dairy products. We will be employing 250 people. The farmers who will be supplying us employ thousands", Van Rensburg said.
