Sound sentiments.

Applause and cheers to Daniel Raven-Ellison. His sentiments on the subject of geography and the way the word should be used ought to be shouted from the rooftops. Likewise, it's bizarre that politicians give so little attention to geography, yet seemingly believe that history is the fundamental discipline required before anyone can become a proper citizen.

Modern geography encompasses all disciplines and seeks to make connections in time and space, whether at the local, regional, national or international scale. And, most importantly, kicking a football through a window may well lead to a conversation that develops the social skills of a negotiator; however, more importantly perhaps, it should lead to a conversation about why the owner has such flimsy windows, which reflect poor insulation, higher energy bills and higher energy consumption, which contributes significantly to global warming!
