Sony to release TVs with high-speed Internet access.

TOKYO, Aug. 4 Kyodo

Sony Marketing (Japan) Inc. said Monday it will release two digital high-definition plasma TV models with high-speed Internet access this fall.

The 42-inch KDE-P42HZ1 will be put on the market on Sept. 10 and the 50-inch KDE-P50HZ1 on Oct. 10 at suggested retail prices of 1.15 million yen and 1.4 million yen, respectively, the Sony Corp. group firm said.

In addition to regular TV programs, the new models can receive news and other information to be provided by Sony Communication Network Corp.'s So-net Internet access service via asymmetric digital subscriber lines or fiber-optic networks.

The two models come with remote-control, touch-sensitive terminals that have liquid-crystal displays.
