Sony Xperia SP, Xperia L And Xperia M Ends Life Cycle On Android Jelly Bean OS.

Users of Sony Xperia L, Xperia M, Xperia M Dual and Xperia SP won't be expecting any further major software upgrades after the company terminated support further upgrades beyond Android Jelly Bean OS.

Sony Xperia L and Xperia M

Sony Xperia L ends life cycle on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with build version 15.3.A.1.17. Based on the (http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/software/phones/xperia-l/) official support Web page, Xperia L only received one major software upgrade after its factory OS Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Here are the details of the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update for this device:

- Improved home screen with enhanced look and feel

- Improved camera quality in low light conditions

- Camera improvements when using HDR and the preview screen

- Improved memory management when using music-streaming services

- Enhanced stability and optimised performance

Xperia M and Xperia M Dual have also reached the end of life cycle on Android Jelly Bean. Unlike with Xperia L, Xperia M and its dual-SIM counterpart ends at Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with respective build versions (http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/software/phones/xperia-m/) 15.4.A.1.9 and (http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/software/phones/xperia-m-dual/) 15.5.A.1.5 . These firmware builds offer several improvements including enhanced user experience, improved battery life and software performance improvements. Xperia M started on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean while Xperia M Dual runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean as its factory OS but both received Android 4.3 as the first and final major update.

Users of Sony Xperia SP won't also expect any further software upgrades especially Android 4.4 KitKat. Sony Mobile finally confirms the end of life cycle of Xperia SP on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with build version (http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/software/phones/xperia-sp/) 12.1.A.1.205 which is the first major software upgrade after Android 4.1 Jelly Bean version. Details about the final software upgrade are listed below:

- Shorter charging time

- Enhanced performance and stability of Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2

- Improve screen visibility to cover more lighting conditions

- Quicker file management

- All the latest bug fixes and stability improvements
