Packaging recycler Sonoco Recycling LLC, part of Sonoco (NYSE:SON), revealed on Thursday that it has completed an upgrade of its materials recovery facility in Onslow County, North Carolina.

The company has invested USD2m to upgrade the facility, enabling it to process a higher volume of recyclables.

In addition to new equipment, Sonoco added an education room and has been providing tours to approximately three classes of students each week. The tours are open to students of all ages, including first grade through to high school seniors, said Ray Howard, general manager of Sonoco Recycling.
