Sonny forecast for Newport Jazz.

Sonny Rollins, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock and Chris Botti are slated to appear at the JVC Jazz Festival-Newport, which runs Aug. 8 to 10 in Newport, R.I.

Botti and Ledisi kick off the festival with an 8 p.m. concert Aug. 8 at the International Tennis Hall of Fame at the Newport Casino. Tickets are $100, $75, $60 and $40.

The festival then runs from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 9 and 10 at Fort Adams State Park, presenting three stages of music there each day.

On Aug. 9 Botti, Wayne Shorter Quartet, the quartet of Dave Holland, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Chris Potter and Eric Harland, and Ledisi are on the main stage.

On Aug. 10, Sonny Rollins, Herbie Hancock, the Anthony Hamilton Blues Project, and an all-star band led by festival founder George Wein will be on the main stage.

Reserved seats are $100 ad $85 per day at Fort Adams. General admission is $69 per day, and children's tickets are $15 per day. Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. tomorrow and can be purchased online at www.festivalnetwork.com. Tickets can also be purchased by calling (877) 655-4TIX.
