Some sneak thieves like it hot.

THIEVES have been taking advantage of the hot weather to sneak into homes through open doors and windows.

PC Sandy Ruffett, crime reduction officer at Chace Avenue police station, Coventry, said some of the thefts had occurred when patio or back doors had been left open while people were watching TV in the front room.

She added: "We need extra vigilance when doors and windows are left open to air the house. It only takes a few minutes for an opportunist thief to strike."
