Solicitor in vow to clear his name.

SHAMED Merseyside solicitor Kevin Dooley today claimed he had been ``stitched up by a kangaroo court'' which struck him off.

Dooley, found guilty yesterday by a Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal of dishonesty and conduct unbefitting a solicitor, vowed to clear his name.

He was linked to an investment scam which promised impossibly high returns to clients who lost millions of pounds.

But Dooley, who has represented such famous names as Robbie Fowler, Stephen Gerrard and Kenny Dalglish, said today: ``It is an absolute disgrace.

``Without a shadow of a doubt I am going to appeal against this decision.

``The battle starts now. I am not surprised by the decision; I expected it. We just had to get that part of the proceedings out of the way.''

Dooley blamed the Law Society's conduct during its investigation and the ``unfair'' tribunal for his predicament.

He said: ``The conviction rate in there is 98%, higher than any other court in Europe. It is a kangaroo court.

``It is the manner in which they dealt with the matter that bothers me.''

Dooley, 60, claimed: ``Nobody has lost money in anything I have been involved in. I saved money for people, in fact.'' Downfall of solicitor to the stars - Pages 14/15
