Software Engineer at IGS Receives Interactive TV Patent.

BOULDER, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 26, 1999--

Erik Urdang, a Senior Software Engineer with Information + Graphics Systems, Inc. (IGS), has just received a patent describing an Interface Method for Providing Information About Items on a List for Interactive Television.

The patent number is 5,897,623 and was awarded on April 27, 1999. The co-inventor of this patent is Robert Fein of Portland, Oregon.

The technique referred to in the patent provides a method for the selection by an end-user of one out of a number of interactive television media options. These are typically displayed as audio-video clips of games or movies but could include other content as well. The system prompts for a selection by showing time-varying representative content in response to menu selections entered by the user, at which point the user may then select the choice being shown or continue looking.

IGS prides itself on building a company where the technical expertise of its employees can be utilized to create unique solutions for the communication industry.
