Sodexho to feed over 40,000 Scouts!
SODEXHO Prestige, the UK's largest provider of hospitality and event catering, is delighted to have been awarded the contract for the catering services at this year's centennial celebrations of the World Scouting Organisation. Among the many events planned this summer is the World Jamboree which is being staged at Hylands Park in Essex, in celebration of the first camp held by Lord Baden Powell 100 years ago. The Jamboree which takes place over a two week period at the end of July will host the gathering of scouts not only from the UK and Europe but also from the four corners of the world, with over 41,000 scouts expected to participate.
The facilities provided by Sodexho Prestige include the provision of a 3,600 seater restaurant serving some 40,000 meals per day as well as the distribution of food items to 16 distribution points on site where some 32,000 scouts will cook their meals from ingredients provided by Sodexho.
To ensure the supplies are kept in perfect condition Sodexho will be utilising 15 40' refrigerated storage units supplied by Seven Refrigeration, the preferred supplier of portable cold stores to Sodexho Prestige.
