Society's forum to shed light on latest LED developments.

The Illuminating Engineering Society New York Section (IESNY) and Designers Lighting Forum of New York (DLF/NY) jointly present LEDucation.

LEDucation is a program devoted to LED's and geared for lighting designers and professionals in allied fields as well as lighting and technology enthusiasts.

The LED program will be held on January 17, 2007, from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the McGraw Hill Conference Center in New York.

LED's (Light Emitting Diodes) have revolutionized the lighting industry and LEDucation is an opportunity to view table top displays of the state of the art products from approximately 30 manufacturers of LED lamps, fixtures and controllers.

Many major firms will have products on display during the event.

Academy Lighting (Lights On), Arrow Electronics, Bartco Lighting, Boca Flasher, Bruck Lighting/Wila Lighting, B-K Lighting, Color Kinetics, Design Plan, Edison Price, evo Solid State Lighting (Renaissance Lighting), GELcore (GE), io lighting, Illumivison, Intense Lighting, iLight Technologies, Jesco, LED Lighting Fixtures, I Lighting Services, Louis Poulsen Lighting, Lutron, Next Generation Lighting, Nichia America Corporation, Philips, Prescolite, Safe T Glow, Signtex Lighting, Traxon Technologies, TPR Enterprises, The Dulanski Group, Winona Lighting, Zumtobel Lighting will have products on display.

Michael Hennes, senior associate and project director at Cline Bettridge Bernstein Lighting Designs will discuss several applications and reasons why LED's were specified.

Howard Mastropiero, business development manager, Solid State Lighting, Philips Lighting will present a brief history of LED's and where the industry is headed in the future.

Ann Reo, founder, CEO and president of io lighting will also address the different types of luminaires that house LED's during the highly anticipated forum.

The event offers credits: 1.0 AIA or 1.0 NCQLP CEU's. Admission: IESNA, DLF, IALD, AIA, ASID, NSPE and design students will be admitted for free. Non-members: $10.
