Social Fund of Kyrgyzstan to collect pension documents for retiring citizens.
The Social Fund will collect documents for pensioners in Kyrgyzstan. This was announced at the international conference in Bishkek held today.
The international conference is discussing development of pension systems after the former Soviet Union countries gained sovereignty.
Representatives of the CIS Association of Pension and Social Funds, social and pension funds of Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are taking part in the conference.
Around 10% of population in Kyrgyzstan are pensioners, Vice Speaker Asel Koduranova said.
"Pension is one of most important factors of the state policy since it concerns every citizen of the country. Raise of pensions in turn increases trust of elderly people to the state," the Vice Speaker said.
Pension sizes remain low, Vice Prime Minister Altinai Omurbekova said. "Much needs to be done yet to make the pension system perfect," she stated.
Social Fund Vice Chairperson Gulnura Jumataeva noted changes ongoing in the social and pension system of Kyrgyzstan.
The Social Fund will handle the documents of retiring citizens. Retiring citizens won't need to collect documents as now, since this function will be performed by the Social Fund.
There are 640,000 pensioners in Kyrgyzstan now.
