Byline: Dan Warburton EXCLUSIVE

THE father of footballing brothers Shola and Sammy Ameobi has told of being stoned by racists after moving to Britain.

Nigerian John Ameobi, arrived in Newcastle in 1986 but nearly quit the UK after a year of study.

He said: "When I came people were warm towards me. But on one or two occasions stones were thrown. They would shout, 'Go home, you black.'" And he added it was "not easy" for his sons at school.

Shola, 34, scored 53 goals over 14 years at Newcastle United. Sammy, 23, also signed with the club. He is now on loan at Cardiff City.

John, a Christian pastor, tells his story in a film by campaign group Show Racism the Red Card.
