Snubbed Anthea seeks new loan.
ANTHEA Turner has remortgaged her pounds 2.2m mansion in Surrey after her TV work dried up and husband Grant Bovey's business went into liquidation.
Since their wedding in August last year, when OK! Magazine shelled out pounds 260,000 for the privilege of releasing an official picture of Anthea and Grant eating Cadbury's Flake chocolate bars, she's struggled to find work.
The former National Lottery host has had no offers from the BBC, ITV, Channel Four or Channel Five. She's only just signed a deal with a small digital channel, Taste CFN, which is not yet on air.
The only recent sighting of Ms Turner, who began her career on Blue Peter before moving on to the GMTV couch, was in March in the celebrity charity version of Big Brother.
Her autobiography, in which she wrote of her "loveless sham" marriage to ex-Radio One DJ Peter Powell, was critically panned and sold few copies. Ms Turner's last paid TV work was presenting Your Kids Are In Charge with sister Wendy for the BBC.
It was dropped after one series. A BBC spokesman confirmed: "We don't have anything in the pipeline with Anthea."
Her spokesman denied she is under financial pressure. He said: "The remortgage was just to cover some work to the house. The money which Taste CFN are paying her is very, very good indeed."
Grant Bovey's internet firm Wildmedia crashed last month owing pounds 400,000. Last year, his media company Watershed folded, leaving him with debts of pounds 700,000 and pounds 300,000 of his own money wasted.
Trade and Industry investigators have looked into Bovey's business failures.
He's now formed another firm and says he's trying to sell a game show idea to the BBC.
