Snoopy poised for King George bid.

SNOOPY LOOPY is set to be supplemented for the Stan James King George VI Chase after finishing a creditable third in the Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup at Newbury on Saturday.

Connections of the Peter Bowen-trained 10-year-old are keen to add the gelding to the field for the Kempton feature on Boxing Day at the confirmation stage on December 20, at a cost of pounds 10,000.

"He's come out of the Newbury race fine and he'll go for the King George now," said the Haverfordwest- based handler.

Snoopy Loopy currently leads the British Horseracing Authority Order Of Merit and picked up some vital points in his bid to land the pounds 200,000 prize at the end of the season.

"Those points might come in handy later on when we may be struggling," added Bowen.

Snoopy Loopy is 20-1 for the King George with the sponsors.
