Snobby shop staff could miss out on big sale.

David Stones hit the nail on the head with his letter 'It seems we have to dress to impress - the sales staff' (December 5).

My partner frequently gets irate about this issue - some sales staff looking down their noses at shoppers who don't choose to go shopping in our finery. You can almost feel the dirty looks when you walk in some of the high-end shops but my other half makes a good point - some of the richest people in the UK choose not to dress up.

So these members of staff could be missing a trick by being rude to the scruffs who wander in their store. It makes me think about the scene from 'Pretty' Woman where the snooty staff scoff at Julia Roberts' attire then she returns the next day to let them know they missed a good sale.
