Business Editors

Scheduled for March 14-17, 2002, the Strasburg Stock, Bond and Currency Show will take place at the Lancaster Host Hotel, 2300 Lincoln Highway East (Route 30), Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

More than 60 of the nation's leading stock, bond and currency dealers will travel from all parts of the country and overseas to participate in the largest Stock, Bond and Currency Collectors Show in the world.

Held in conjunction with the show will be a two-session auction of Stocks, Bonds, and Currency on Friday and Saturday evenings, March 15-16, 2002 at 6 p.m. One of the highlights of the auction is the Charles A. Leeds, Jr., Collection of stocks and bonds issued to or signed by people of great historical interest. representing a once in a lifetime opportunity for collectors.

This phenomenal collection includes some great rarities such as a 1779 Massachusetts bond signed by Samuel Adams; a Virginia Land Warrant of 1781 signed by legendary scout and Indian fighter Daniel Boone; a U.S. Steel certificate signed by Andrew Carnegie; and a Walt Disney Studios certificate signed by Walt Disney as president, 1955.

Robert Fulton signs a receipt for money paid towards the purchase of the Hudson River Steam-Boat Company, builder of the world's first steam powered battleship; a United States Treasury bond issued to John Hancock, and signed by Alexander Hamilton; an exceedingly rare and unusual manuscript document dated 1722 signed by Sir Isaac Newton, concerning an interest payment made by the South Sea Company; a 1777 Massachusetts bond signed by Paul Revere on the back, compensating him for his efforts in recruiting soldiers for the Revolutionary War; an original Standard Oil certificate of 1871, issued to Henry Flagler and signed by John D. Rockefeller; an 1866 New York and Harlem Railroad certificate signed by Commodore Vanderbilt; and the only certificate believed to be available to collectors that is both issued to and signed by Henry Ford as president, Ford Motor Company of Canada.

Many, many more signed historical certificates are included in this section. Among the many other fine stocks and bonds being offered is a Wells Fargo & Company stock certificate of 1870 -- which interests both stock and bond collectors and revenue stamped paper collectors, as early shares of this company have been virtually unobtainable.

In addition the auction features nearly 1000 lots of Stocks, Bonds, and related collectibles, including Railroad, Mining, Oil, Automobile and many more collectible certificates. The Currency section of over 1000 lots consists of Large and Small Size Currency, Fractionals, Colonial & Confederate notes, Obsolete Banknotes, and International Currency.
