Smuggling bid foiled, two Indian smugglers shot dead, 11 Kg heroin recovered.

LAHORE -- Punjab Rangers foiled a smuggling bid and gunned down two smugglers who were trying to enter illegally from India to Pakistan while one smuggler fled from the scene successfully.

According to Media reports, the Indian smugglers were attempting to smuggle heroin via Wagha border to Pakistan when the contingents of Punjab Rangers tried to stop them from entering into Pakistan. Upon their resistance the rangers fired shots as a result the two smugglers were killed while one managed to escape from scene.

Meanwhile, the ranger recovered a huge cache of weapons and 11 kg heroin form them.

It merits mentioning here that the Punjab rangers foiling several border smuggling bids recovered 99 Kg of heroin and approximately 2,000 fresh branded bottles of wine during three years.
