Smoking banned.

Smoking will soon be off the menu at a supermarket cafe after complaints from shoppers.

Customers at the restaurant in the Morrisons store in Jarrow will no longer be allowed to light up from Monday.

Smoking will not be allowed in any of their cafes or restaurants including those at Jarrow, Doxford Park in Sunderland and Cowgate and Byker in Newcastle.

Jarrow councillor Barrie Scorer said: "This is something I've complained about. You could smell the smoke in the rest of the store."
