Smile to launch VoLTE in Uganda.

Smile Communications is ready to launch the continent's first commercial voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) services, as the company claims.

"The new service will bring high-definition voice calls with instant connections, no dropped calls and no background noise," Smile stated.

The company says it has invested over $40 million in its network rollouts in Uganda.

Smile 4G network currently covers Kampala, Entebbe and Mukono, and additional sites are being deployed over the next few months in Jinja, Mbale, Soroti, Tororo, Lira, Gulu, Masindi, Kasese, Fort Portal, Kabale, Mbarara and Masaka.
